A Merry Family Room Mini Tour

I am calling this a mini tour because I have a few projects in the works for the two other walls in the family room. I am hoping to finish up the wall above our TV and the wall above our sofa and add a few new pillows too. I promise to post some pics once the room is finally all finished up and decked out for the holidays.

This is our second Christmas in our home and I am still figuring out how to decorate the new spaces for the holidays. I really try to use what I already have and to keep it simple!  The only things I purchased this year were a roll of burlap ribbon from Pottery Barn ($18.50),  a Christmas pillow from TJ Maxx ($14.99) and the string of cranberry bead garland ($3.00) and two candles ($3.99 each) were purchased from a wonderful shop in downtown Cary, NC called The Perfect Piece.

This year I really wanted the tree in our family room instead of the living room.  The tree is on the small side but it fit perfectly in the corner and it makes the room so cozy and festive for the holidays.  With a petite tree my kids really enjoyed decorating it this year and it was super quick too!

Hope you enjoyed the mini tour!

I am so excited to be linking up with:

Hi, I love your beautiful holiday room. I was wondering where you go that black metal art over the fireplace. We are remodeling our living room and that would be a great piece to put over our fireplace.

    • admin says:

Thanks so much Janice! I found the black metal piece at Kirkland’s, I think about 6 months ago, and it was a steal at $19! When I saw it I honestly didn’t know where to hang it but for the price I couldn’t pass it up! It has been moved around quite a few times but I think it has finally found a home over the fireplace. There are often different items on the Kirkland’s website than in the store so it is worth checking both.

Hi Lauren, I just found your blog and I love it. What a lovely home and lovely Christmas decorating you have done! I spotted your checked curtains and thought I would like those in my home. We just changed from some Shabby Chic to country farmhouse-black furniture in the dining room, and those curtains would look wonderful…or that fabric. anyhow….I found you off of Pinterest and am now following you there.
    Have an awesome Christmas.
    Blessings,
    Debbie

Hi Debbie, Thanks so much! I love the farmhouse look : ) I purchased the curtains from Country Curtains, they had the big buffalo check and the smaller check I had a hard time deciding between the two, loved them both. I just checked out your blog, LOVE your hot cocoa station, I set one up for my kids but after seeing yours I think I need to add some goodies and the sign you found is so perfect! Merry Christmas! : )
