When I go thrift shopping I search for original art because that is the only way I can afford it. I usually end up only finding prints, but last weekend I found this sweet little picture buried under a pile of old frames and pictures. It is an original watercolor and even though the frame was not in great shape it had potential and I just couldn’t pass it up. My family loves the ocean so the subject matter of the painting is near and dear to my heart. Oh and did I mention it was $1.50? That was definitely in my budget!
With a coat of CeCe Caldwell paint in Vintage White, a little clear wax, some light sanding and a scrap piece of linen fabric, it now has a refreshed look and a new home. I found the perfect place for the painting on the gallery wall that I have been working on in our hallway. It is the perfect finishing touch to the wall which is now complete and filled with pictures.
I will be posting a before and after of the gallery wall on Monday so hope you will come back next week to check it out.
