Don’t you just love when you pin an image on Pinterest, you click on it and you immediately swoon and can’t wait to see more! Well, that’s exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago when I was searching for decorating inspiration for our living room. There were hundreds of photos that popped up, but one stood out among all the others. It was a picture that looked straight out of a shelter magazine. It was perfectly styled with an elegant mix of warm and inviting decor and a balance of neutrals with subtle pops of color. With a click of the mouse I was transported inside the most beautiful and cozy living room. I instantly fell in love with this home and blog, Gracious Farmhouse.
The home Alayne, her husband and three precious little ones share is not just any home, it’s a farmhouse, over 100 years old and has been in their family for the past 60 years. So many of us love farmhouse style decor and can only dream of living in a real farmhouse. For Alayne and her family they are truly living their dream and for the past eleven years they have been making this home their own one project at a time.
Alayne started her blog, Gracious Farmhouse, back in March as a way to create a journal of the accomplishments and progress she and her husband have made in decorating and updating their home. For Alayne, “This blog is a place for me to share the renovation journey of our farmhouse and the things which inspire us!” You can read more from Alayne’s very first post here.
I want to thank Alayne so much for the opportunity to share her home with you today. Alayne’s blog is beautifully written and filled with amazing before and after renovations, furniture upholstery, step by step sewing tutorials and endless design inspiration! I adore Alayne’s decorating style. She has an incredible eye for detail and I love the way she uses blue and white so perfectly throughout her home. The instant I saw her buffalo check rug I was hooked and look forward to following along on her home renovation journey.
So… are you ready to take a peek inside? Be sure to click on each picture to read the full post and to see so much more!
