A Visit To Melville Trading Company In Downtown Mebane

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent the day cooking, eating, relaxing and simply enjoying our precious family time together and feeling truly grateful for our many blessings.

After the rainy and cold weather we have had here lately, today was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect day to get out and explore the area. Mebane, North Carolina has been on my list of places to visit for a while, so I was excited to have a chance to take a trip up there with the family to check it out.  I could have spent hours walking around downtown Mebane, it is such a quaint and charming area with lots of wonderful shops and restaurants.

The one shop I knew I wanted to go to first was Melville Trading Company. If you follow Kristen of Sophia’s Decor and Shirley from Housepitality Designs, then you know that they recently announced they are sharing a booth there.

Shirley and Kristen’s booth is beautifully put together and filled with so many fabulous finds!

Of course I could not go home empty handed. Can you guess what lovely treasure went home in the car with us?

Melville Trading 3

Does this look familiar? I am sure you all have seen Kristen’s gorgeous home tour where she had this hanging above her fireplace in her family room. I have been looking for a  tobacco basket for a while and am so happy to have finally found the perfect one!

If you ever have a chance to visit Mebane, North Carolina it is totally worth the trip and be sure to stop by Kristen and Shirley’s booth at Melville Trading Company. Amy from Atta Girl Says also has a booth there. The next time I go I will be sure to take some pics of Amy’s booth to share with you as well.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I love it Lauren! I found a tobacco basket about a year ago for $15 and for some crazy reason didn’t buy it and now I totally regret it.

I’ve never been to Mebane, will have to go sometime.

    • Danielle, I remember seeing one in one of the shops during our trip to Greensboro and regretting not buying it too. I will keep an eye out for one for you when I am out shopping.

  2. That’s really cool, Lauren. This northern girl had no idea what it was but now i want one!!! Don’t think i’ve ever seen one up here. Can’t wait to see where you use it in your home!
