Lately I have been feeling like our kitchen needs a little refresh. I don’t have any big projects planned, I would just like to add a few new decorative touches to the room. The first addition is a little vignette that I put together with a collection of some of my favorite shopping finds.
With all of the white, the kitchen to me often feels a bit too plain and could use some color and décor to help make the room feel cozier. However, with cabinets, windows and doors filling every wall I am left with just a few small spaces to decorate. I do usually prefer to keep the countertops free of clutter, but with limited wall space to work this is one of the few other options I have to add those decorative touches.
I would consider my decorating style mostly a mix of cottage and traditional, however as I look around my kitchen I guess I like to add a touch of farmhouse into the mix too. This little cottage/farmhouse style vignette is a collection of things that I have found over the past few years at antique and thrift shops, online and home and garden stores. So, it did take some time for it to all come together, but I think was worth the wait now seeing how it has added some much needed interest that has long been missing in the kitchen.
I love how the green accents add a nice pop of color and some warmth to the room.
I think green also pairs so perfectly with black and white.
One project that I have been putting off for way too long is painting the dining table in the kitchen. Over the years of using it for crafting it is now covered with layers of glitter, paint and glue and the time has come to give it some much needed attention. I am leaning toward painting it green, but have had a hard time actually deciding on a color. I would love to get your opinion to help me finally make a decision on what color to choose so I can get started on this long overdue makeover!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and hope you are having a great weekend! I will be back soon with a fun furniture makeover project to share! It is something that used to be in my daughter’s room and I am just a little giddy over this transformation. Can’t wait to show you!
