I don’t know what it is about Springtime, but I always get so inspired to make a new wreath or two for the house this time of year. I do sometimes feel a little guilty thinking I should just use the one’s from the year before, but making wreaths is just too much fun and a nice creative outlet. I still need to finish the wreath that I started for the front door, but the one I made for the back porch is the wreath I am excited to share with you today!
This wreath was super inexpensive and easy to make, but it did take a few hours to complete. To create the wreath I used some scraps of fabric that I had leftover from other projects and a wreath form that I purchased a while back for a few dollars.
My goal in making this project was to help add another pop of color and a little more blue to the porch, but I wanted to keep it simple so I just made a few of these fabric flowers.
You can find my fabric flower tutorial HERE.
Once I finished making the scrap fabric flowers I placed them onto of the wreath which I had covered with a strip of braided burlap. If you would like to see how I made the braided burlap, you can find the tutorial HERE. I wish I could give you the exact measurements I used to determine how long to cut the strips of burlap, but I really just guessed. I had a long strip of burlap leftover from another project I had recently finished, which I will be sharing soon, and I figured if it ended up not being long enough I would just cover the rest with the flowers. Luckily, with a little stretching of the burlap I actually made it all the way around, whew!
Now it was time to hang it up!
I really love how the wreath now looks hanging on this old window.
So, if you have some scraps of fabric and a little time I hope you will give this project a try! Thank you so much for stopping by today and wishing you most joyous Spring and Easter weekend! I also want to thank you all so much for all of your sweet messages regarding my daughter’s that I shared in my last post. I can’t even begin to express how touched and overwhelmed with emotion I was reading all of your comments. We just want to thank you all so very much for your kind words, prayers and support!
I will be back again soon with another project to share!
