I am so excited to finally share our family room all decked out for the holiday season with you! I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I last shared any pictures of this room, but you might notice that things look a little different than the last time.
I honestly never thought I could part with my black buffalo check curtains as I loved them so much, but I was just ready for a change.
The back of our home is surrounded by trees and it can often feel a bit dark, especially on a cloudy day, so I thought changing the curtains would help to brighten things up.
I searched for months trying to find new ones, but I couldn’t find anything that I loved as much.
So, I decided to try a different color and I could not be happier! I got to keep the cozy look and feel of the buffalo check, the pattern is now just lighter and brighter.
After the curtains were hung, well one thing led to another and I started shuffling rugs around the house.
As well as some of the decor. A few things were moved around and few new ones added, thanks to some recent shopping finds.
I am really enjoying all of the soft blues and greens that now fill the room.
The holiday decorations are similar to last year. Although I did end up buying a new skinny tree, and a pillow. I also made a new wreath with yarn that is hung on an old window frame that I painted.
I also found some really pretty ribbon on Etsy in a small check pattern and stripes that I used to make some new bows.
When I purchased the new curtains, I couldn’t resist also getting a couple of pillows to match.
I don’t think I will ever get tired of mercury glass.
I just love how it reflects the glow of the Christmas lights.
I may have gone a little overboard with bows this year, but it was such a simple and inexpensive way to freshen things up.
I always have the best intentions of sharing our home decorated for the holidays at the beginning of December, but I can never seem to pull everything together in time. Thanks for being patient with me and I hope you enjoyed the Christmas tour of our family room and the changes to the room too!
I’ll be back to share another stop on the tour very soon. Until then wishing you a great week ahead and thanks so much for stopping by for a visit!
